Principal Investigator  Christopher W. V. Hogue is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore and co-founder and Principal Investigator in the Singapore Mechanobiology Institute. Formerly at the University of Toronto Dr. Hogue was the Principal Investigator on Genome Canada's BIND Project. BIND is recognized as the first and most complete molecular interaction database of its kind. The intellectual property behind his research - including BIND and over a million lines of source code - was acquired by Thomson-Reuters Scientific, making him the first grant recipient to successfully commercialize research work resulting from a Genome Canada investment to a Canadian company. Chris received his Honours B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Windsor and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa. A self-taught software developer and architect, he did his Postdoctoral training at NCBI as a GenBank Fellow. Highly cited with over 6000 citations and more than 60 peer reviewed papers, he has an ongoing academic interest in wet-lab research in Mechanobioloy unlocking the mysteries of cell motion, molecular assembly, complex molecule evolution and force responsive protein interaction systems.
